NAV-ALERT

Enhancing maritime safety through AI, sensor fusion,
and real-time crew monitoring
.

What is NAV-ALERT?

NAV-ALERT is an innovative project designed to enhance maritime safety through AI, sensor fusion, and real-time crew monitoring. By reducing human errors and improving situational awareness, we aim to ensure better decision-making and safeguard the well-being of naval crews during operations.

The Need for Sensor Fusion

Naval operations generate vast amounts of data from various sensors, such as physiological signals and crew movements. On their own, these data lack context. Sensor fusion combines these data streams into a unified picture, providing actionable insights for timely, informed decision-making that ensures mission success and crew safety.

Why NAV-ALERT Matters

NAV-ALERT offers a holistic solution by integrating AI, sensor fusion, and real-time monitoring. This system enhances decision-making, facilitates proactive interventions, and improves operational efficiency, ensuring that crews are well-prepared for high-stakes situations.

Project Work Packages

The project is structured into key work packages, each focusing on an essential component of
the NAV-ALERT system:

WP1: Use Cases & Architecture

Defining key scenarios & requirements.

WP2: DEAP Sensor Fusion

Monitoring physiological signals.

WP3: UWB Crew Location

Tracking movement on board.

WP4: AI-Based Analysis

AI-driven insights for crew readiness.

WP5: Validation & Evaluation

Testing in real-world conditions.

WP6: Data Management & Security

Ensuring secure & efficient data handling.

WP7: Dissemination & Exploitation

Expanding project impact & adoption.
